Battle of the Coral Sea memorial service Photos 2017, dedication and blessing of the plaques of the RAAF Catalina Air Craft and Crew that were lost during that battle, WWII off our shores in memory of RAAF 20 Squadrons Air Crew Catalina’s A 24-18 and A 24-20.
We all enjoyed a fantastic day the event was well-represented RAAF ground support staff and 28 Squadron King Air flyover, 1 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets were represented and their CO Flight Lieutenant (AAFC) Roger Bow from 103 Squadron Ingham.
We all spent time catching up with our Townsville Branch members and other long time friends from the area.
Plaques unveiled by Mr Ted Mildren CSM RAAFA Queensland Division North Queensland Area Vice President and Mr David Goggin RAAFA Cairns Branch President. Dedication and Blessing by Chaplain (Squadron Leader) Wayne Melrose Royal Australian Air Force 27 Squadron Townsville.
